Multiple VOBs to Single AVI

I know that CloneDVD Mobile [from SlySoft] is able to convert a DVD film [ie multiple VOB files to a single AVI and as that product is also based around MEncoder it must be possible, would it be possible for such a feature to be included in MediaCoder?

I agree. I really wish MediaCoder could take multiple VOB's (or even an IFO file), and merge + transcode into a single AVI.

There are multiple other options including:
1. Set your DVD ripper to create a single VOB (SmartRipper can do this)

2. Use DVDShrink and select "Preferences" / "Output Files" tab, and
uncheck "Split VOB files into 1GB chunks"

2. Use a tool like VOBMerge to re-combine multiple VOBS into a single VOB before transcoding with MediaCoder.

I have used all three options. Lately, I am just using VOBMerge.

Maybe Stanley can add this feature to MC later (or explain how this can be done in MC directly).

You can try the experimental joining function in MediaCoder.
Switch to expert mode and you will see a combo box with joiner mode.

Thanks Stanley! I forgot about the expert mode drop-down!

Will try that feature. Sorry some of us are just getting used to MC. A bit tough without a help file..
