Sounds to me like you should uninstall MediaCoder and make sure to delete the folder it was installed in. having done that, install a fresh full download, scrap the old builds and go for the latest full 20 mb one.

So I believe this is a rare issue.
This shown text indicates that the preference data (content of mccore.xml) cannot be successfully loaded (by libxml2.dll). Could you help to try it on another system?

On a windows 2000 Service Pack 4, a fresh installation of 0.5.0.r1, produces a message box from windows, on starting the program.
Title: Prgram error.
Text: mediacoder.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. An error log will be created. (more or less; I am translating).
Thanks for any hint.

I guess does not support SSE. It's a Pentium II; I think that started in Pentium III.

I have the same problem. My machine is:
- Pentium 4 w/ HT 3.4 GHz
- 2GB RAM
- Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
It Says "Fatal Error" when I launch the app.
