Did you try any of the suggestions above:
(1) uninstall with Revo to remove more than just the MediaCoder folder ?
(2) try an earlier build ?

First of all, it is not my program. I am just a user like you; just trying to help you out!
All builds of MediaCoder are beta versions and, therefore, are likely to have bugs. They all work very well considering the almost countless number of features on offer.
But they do have some bugs.

The reason I suggested a 'full' install with Revo is that MediaCoder, like most Apps, installs more than just the stuff in their main folder. They also store 'hidden' files and Registry entries. Sometimes, the hidden files for MediaCoder, which contain info on previous settings, maybe such as the settings that relate to the System tray. Just a thought.

Most users are happy to follow the advice of others on this forum and are willing to look for a build that suits them and stick to it.
As stated many times on this forum, install a new build only if you are willing to experiment and if its bugs are too restricting move to another build.
Your choice.
All we can do is advise!

ok, sorry
I just like things to work,
I didnt mean to go overboard with u.

I guess I will just play around with some older version I found stashed away
and I downloaded Revo and will see what happens

I just took this site as the official forum,
and thought that it was run by its developers,
since its at the same URL location

thanks again

Thanks
You may not need an older build, since recent builds should work (suggest 4797 -- see Test Report under link belw).
I have only seen your problem once and it was cleared up when re-installed after an uninstall with Revo ("moderate" level).
Good luck

This System Tray problem seems worse than I thought.
Previously, I had experinced the problem only once (Post above on 12 Dec).
However, today, after comparing the Demux ability of build 4799 with builds 4640 and 4740 (also installed, but on different drives), I re-opened 4797 and all I got was the sytem tray icon!
I could not open MediaCoder from it and it would not close. I had to kill it via Task Manager.
I then,. tried 4799, also installed, in a parrallel folder, and it also gave only the system tray icon!

However, builds 4740 and 4640 would open correctly!
I did a re-start of my PC and opened the minimum of Apps. Still the same!
4640 and 4740 would open but 4797 and 4799 gave only the system tray icon!

Hence, something in the new builds causes a lock up the Sytem Tray icon -- sometimes!!

I then did a check to see if a Full uninstall with Revo Uninstaller was needed, etc.

I began with using just the local uninstaller from the folder for build 4797. This cleaned out all its folders under Progarm Files.
I then installed 4797 and after "Skip this Page" was checked on the welcome screen all was OK. MediaCoder then opened fully!
Also, build 4799 now opens!

Hence no need for a more thorough uninstall! ??
