MC 4640 audio video out of synch

Post by vasquuez » Thu May 06, 2010 9:06 am

I have source file, where audio and video starts in 38 second (people start talking) in transcoded file audio starts correct in 38 second but video starts in 28 second, so its all out of synch.

my settings are:

video:
h264
2-pass
source: mplayer
encoder: mencoder

audio:
lame mp3
source: mplayer

container:
avi
multiplexer: disabled

is it possible to fix it somehow?

please give me advice somebody about this :(

it's only in some movies not every movie i transcode :/

Is the first 38 sec blank (no audio and 'black' video)?
Does it play this way (correctly) in MediaCoder before transcoding?
If so, have you tried trimming off the first 38 sec?

first is intro and it seems like on source file, but i don't know how it is possible, video of this movie starts in source file in 38 second, and in transcoded movie in 28 second, the audio starts correct in 38 second, so i think something is wrong with mencoder, i checked version 0.6.1.4090 with this movie and everything was alright

in mediacoder, when i play it in mplayer it is ok, no out of synch problem, but after transcoding everything is out of sych

trimming off doesn't do the trick, i made trascoding for 15 minute to 20 minute of this movie and it's still out of synch

What is missing?
Is the first 10 sec truncated or is the 38 sec intro compressed (speeded up)?

If the problem does not occur for most other movies, what is so different about this one?

i don't know, probably nothing, some other 3 movies are also out of synth

transcodeing to mp4 with h264 and faac gives correct movie, but something must be not right with mencoder, when multiplexer is disabled. when i code this movie to mp4 i use mp4box multiplexer and everything is fine but with mencoder nothin works with audio and video

and as i wrote earlier with version 4090 ale is ok, maybi this version works diffrent because i have there everything setted to autoselect

here you have specyfication if that helps:

If what you describe is correct, that the first 38 sec of video is reduced to 28 sec with the remaining 90 min correct, I have no explanation.

All I suggest is that you either return to settings that worked (auto select or what have you) or return to a build that does what you want (4090).
MC builds are all beta versions.
