Auto-shutdown when can't find source file

With MediaCoder-0.5.0-r1 and mediacoder-update-2316.
I did some h.264 test encodes with an MPEG-2 source, and it worked fine. Then I deleted the source file and forgot that I did that. Then I downloaded the update, ran the same encode (with the now deleted source) and MediaCoder starts the shutdown process moments later.
I never used the auto shutdown option and still don't.
At least that is what I think happened. I haven't tested the theory because it was several auto-shutdowns later before I realised that the source is missing, and by then I just want to move on with my work.
Edit: By the way, I think it's a serious programming flaw if the auto-shutdown can be so easily invoked.
