"Failed to load Xvid.

Post by bugz » Wed Jul 11, 2007 7:15 pm

... This can be caused by the absence of library/binary."

The message I get on fresh MediaCode build 3678 installation attempting to transcode MPEG4/MOV into MPEG4/XviD for mobile phone. The same problem with encoding to XviD with latest 3794 update.

System Win2000, XviD Encoder Path is .\codecs\xvidcore.dll

Do you have a copy of xvidcore.dll in your system32?

I am having a similar problem, and even when I put the dll in sys32 folder, the problem remains.

I cannot reproduce this problem. I think it is possibly caused by multiple xvidcore.dll version confliction. Beside, have u tried fresh install with latest full installer?

Im having the same issue, I've managed to narrow it down to only certain movies. I have yet to figure out how these movies are different from others, but certain ones fail every time, and others work without error, even after a fresh intall of the xvid libraries.

Did one better, fixed the issue. Ive been leaving the settings the same to batch encode my movies, well it gets this error when it gets to one that is already 320x240 which is what Im changing them too (it might error on 640x480 as well, dont have one to check) the way to fix it is encode these movies seperately and DISABLE the crop option. I had it on crop to fit and that causes the xvid binary failed.

It would be nice if the program check for that and just disabled it during the one encode so we could still batch encode everything with the same settings. But not necessary, I can find the ones that are already full screen and put them in a different list. The widescreen (or 320x176 or whatever are the ones that were running fine with the crop to fit option in place)

Hope I helped someone :)

I still get this sometimes even on the latest version.

My solutions:

1.) ensure you have the xvid encoding codec installed
2.) click file, revert all settings, configure settings again.

Be sure you have installed the xvid codec, most codec packs contain the playback codec only not the encoding codec.

Secondly (what I always forget) if you are using a saved preset (settings) or from a previous encode, you may have forgot something like I did with audio channels I had to "original" for an xvid encode of TS (which contains multiple tracks, and xvid doesn't support multiple audio.)

sadly this software is not smart enough to tell you WHAT the problem is, but just keep checking ALL the settings to make sure the format you select is possible, as this software does allow impossible combinations of codecs and settings which these codecs do not support.

perhaps future updates will be smarter to change the profile settings when you select a different codec which does not support these settings, who knows.

Hi, I have the same problem, I have the xvidcore.dll in my system32 folder, I installed the xvid core more time and every the same message.... it's really annoying. It lasts since for more than a year, and it makes me only when I want to encode in CBR (constant bitrate). Someone has a real solution, I am desperate, I must make a video for my work and I only can used as the xvid formats in CBR :/
