fps always converted to 25fps

Post by guest » Wed Jun 27, 2007 2:37 pm

I have alot of videos in xvid/wmv all 29 or 23fps.
I am encoding to x264 in a mp4 container.

I have it marked to keep original fps, but it converts the videos to 25fps no matter what.

What's build?
This is bug in MediaCoder 0.6.0 3777.
Fixed in 3780.

You're right, it's outputting 25 fps when my original video was 29.97 fps. I'm using build 3780. My input file was WMV. Haven't tested with other videos.

For now, uncheck the frame rate box instead. This will get around the problem.

Yeah i tested manually selecting the framerate and it fixes the problem.

Seems to happen using any source has happened using multiple wmv sources as well as mpeg-1 and xvid.

This is tested using build 3780

Ah...
Frame Rate = Original
Yes. Something wrong.
I'm check WMV file with 15 FPS and AVI with 18 FPS.
H.264 / MP4 = 25 FPS
XviD / AVI = 25 FPS
XviD / MP4 = 25 FPS when play - crazy info from MediaInfo and GSpot (23.784 FPS (MI) or 12.500 FPS / 6.250 FPS (GSpot)) :?

BTW...
MediaCoder build 3780.
Still problem with FPS from WMV.
In Summary tab - 1000 FPS.
Without frame rate conversion (uncheck Frame Rate) - 1000 FPS in outputed file.

I don't have the 1000 fps problem on my end, although the wmv video I have was encoded in Windows Media Video 9. Your wmv video was encoded in Windows Media Video 7.

Hmm...

Of course 1000 FPS in outputed transcoded file - only if i'm disable Frame Rate.

[EDIT]
Strange... i'm check on other computer - no problem with WMV frame rate.
I'm don't know what difference...? :?

As of build 3820 this is still an issue.

Input
AVI container
Xvid
mp3
23.98

Output:
MP4
x264
ct aac+
Original

The settings above output a video at fps of 25fps.
I have to check each video and manually set the output fps.
Mediacoder detects the videos fps properly in the summary so that is not an issue.

It just appears to ignore original and default to 25fps.

It adds the command --fps 25 when i view the console window if i have it set on original in the picture tab.

There might be a bug somewhere. Have u try specifying output frame rates in Settings dialog? The related values are at Video Filter -> Frame.
When things work together, things work.

If i set the FPS manually in setting > video filter > framerate or if i set it manually under the picture tab i get the correct FPS.

If i set it to 0/original i get 25fps no matter what the original FPS is.
My settings under Framerate are
