build 3245:

- i was able to use mp4 for bit rate based transcoding again.
- when using two pass with mp4 the transcoding stops at 99.7% (its the same as the error i described in my above post)
- there is still the mergeerror for mkv (both bit rate based and two pass)

all of the above tests were made using h264/nero aac.

- i have tried out more of the audioripper extension, i dont know wether this is a bug, but it takes many hours to rip into wavpack vs a few seconds with the other formats (no, i didnt wait for it to end ripping, so i dont know, if there is output or if the output works)
- flash video maker: with the settings the extension uses there is an error and no output, but if i set muxer to mkv everything is ok. it seems the muxer is not broken after all.

for all these tests i have used the same quicktime mov as before and the auto select configuration.

*Cannot encode video using Huffyuv as my video format and waveform as my audio format. Should be outputting as AVI container not MPEG container.

Is their anyway I can find detailed change logs made in each snapshot build other then the one listed in the first page? Just a curious person.

Edit: Build 3251 is corrupted/incomplete on SourceForge. Chinese mirror works.

I'm too busy coding to write down a changlog during this period. I will, however, write detailed changlog as soon as 0.6.0 pre1 is released.
Build 3260 is online. Several fixups including another attempt to fix Matroska with H.264 issue. Also improved audio/video stream dumping (an stream dump option is added in the audio ripper extension).
When things work together, things work.

mkv works!!

Post by SirAuron » Sat Feb 10, 2007 2:23 am

- transcoding the quicktime mov into h264/nero aac bit rate based and two pass into mkv container finally works (its now also only one video stream with two pass)! Congratulations :-)
- i am not sure wether this is a bug or if i am just impatient, but when using two pass with mp4 as container it seems to freeze after the first pass, there is no cpu utilization either

on a side note: when i transcode video (all kind of) to h264/any audio codec
with two pass into mkv, it sometimes happens that the sound stops somewhere. i have looked into the mkv file and the audio stream really stops there. however if i only rip the audio out of the source file everything is fine and when muxing it manually with mkvmerge its working, too.
this is no bug thats particular of this build or version. i have it since i started using mediacoder (0.5.1 r2). it seems to happen more often when i play some kind of video file while transcoding (with zoomplayer 5).

6.0 snapshot releases, 6.0 r1 , 6.0r1a DOES NOT WORK FOR ME

Post by Chuckster » Mon Feb 12, 2007 4:42 am

I get this error as soon as I click on the icon

mediacoder.exe - Application Error
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click on OK to terminate the application."

MediaCoder-0.5.1-r9 works for me.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling
Tried Disabling ANTIVIRUS
Tried Disabling some services
Tired Enabling some services

Give me some ideas to try.

Is there something I can try to monitor why it is crashing

What? MediaCoder doesn't rely on .NET framework at all.

I don't know why but it worked for me?

I don't know why but it worked for me?

I tried all versions of 6.0 and it would give me that error.

I tried versions of 5.0 with no problems.

Other programs I would install had no problems.

So being sort-of-software-tester at work. I remember some problems of a software our programmer made for some testing system with crashing that was fixed by updating .NET framework.
ALSO my ATI videocard is also using .NET framework, so I took a chance of updating and it worked.
