Combine video (avi) and audio (wav) files into one?

Post by alcatraz » Thu Jul 29, 2010 9:39 pm

Hi everybody, I´m a beginner to this program which i hope will help me fix my problems that I have.

I have two files, one AVi file with the video, and another file with the audio(wav) to go along with the video. Is it possible, and if so, how do I convert these two files into one?

best regards

Welcome aboard!
Joining the video and audio streams into one file is called multiplexing or muxing, for short.
Muxing is done on the container tab and, I gather, refers to streams that were originally from one input file that are treated separately while converting and then as a final step, muxed.
I have never tried to mux separate input files, and may not be possible with MediaCoder.
If MC can do it, others may let us know.

There are other options, such as Muxman, a freebie, that will mux files together, but this particular App is designed to output as VOB and , therefore requires the video as an M2V (DVD-compliant MPEG2) and the audio as WAV or AC3.

Hi,
Here you go................
Follow the steps belows:
1) Load your .avi file with the video only
2)click on audio tab.......then check on external file..........a window pops up
3) select your .wav audio file

select your video and audio format/container........ that you like to encode.......

And start encoding
that's it.........
