adding codecs

I have a newbie question about adding codecs. I added the K-lite codec pack (full)to my PC. This creates a K-lite codec pack folder in Program Files. MediaCoder has its own codec folder which remained unchanged. Will MediaCoder access the K-lite folder automatically or do I have to add it in some way to the MediaCoder folder?
