output file size

I want to batch convert divx files because of wrong codecs for my divx player, and I want to keep the original size. So far, the way media coder is set on my computer makes it further compress the files (xvid + lame). 696 Mb were reduced to 548 Mb. How to keep my original 696 Mb ? I went through the settings and the forum without finding my answer.
