That's what happen. No windows get open when I click settings. MediaCoder has detected the browser correctly, but it won't work

"clean" install is nice whatever, but issues will remain with a corrupt profile

you really shouldn't be bitching about beta software issues :P
... to be continued

Yes, try clean up the profile and uninstall and re-install MediaCoder too.

I have the same problem with firefox 3.0.1, a clean profile, a clean mediacoder install, and Vista SP1.

This happens on both my laptop and my desktop, which have the same software versions.

This is extremely aggravating as it seems that I am stuck with certain settings unless I can get to those menus. Has anyone found a fix yet?

I really wish the settings and other menus were just integrated into the GUI like VLC does...

Yes, others have reported problems getting Firefox to work with Mediacoder. Two solutions I know of are:

(1) Use SAFE MODE
Options > Browser Setup > Check Safe Mode

(2) Use Portable Firefox
Install portable firefox under media coder directory.
Options > Browser Setup > Find Firefox
Locate portable firefox, note it is the version under the App directory
