Two Pass Encode Error H264

Post by SperryRuss » Fri Nov 16, 2007 4:29 pm

I cannot do a two pass encode with this latest release build 3945. I get an error: The decode thread seems to be blocked. blah, blah. this may indicate the encoder has encountered an error and stopped working.

I can do a single pass encode with no problem. Any ideas what is wrong?

Seems like the ring buffer is not fully working yet.. What happens if you let it continue with the transcoding?
MediaCoder settings:

x264 (backend/source: mencoder, fps: 23,976, Fabio Sonatti's settings) + nero aac 64 in matroska

I don't know what the ring buffer is. If I click on it to continue transcoding then the error box pops up again and again.

Appearantly Stanley has fixed some issues in the latest build (3960). Try using that one.

I am using the new build 3980 and still having the same problem. And also the log shows error: x264 unloaded.

You can try setting the video data timeout threshhold to a higher value.
Click on settings and then go to general, video options.

I doubled the settings from 30000 to 60000. Still the same problem. Guess I will just keep following the updates and see if it improves for me in that area. Thanks.

Hi, first of all, Mediacoder is really great, Bravo

What a pity that there is no guide or tutorial.
For newbies like me ... could you explain step by step how to make a 2-pass or 3-pass encoding with x264 :?:
I know how to encode in 1 pass, but not in 2-pass :(

Futhermore, I cannot use Matroska container with x264 and He-AAC (contrariwise, it works with MP4 container)

I use a .TS file with the latest 0.6 build 3983

Thank in advance.
