Relentless Firefox adverts

Post by bugz » Thu Sep 20, 2007 1:04 pm

Overall, MediaCoder is great. However, it is frustrating and annoying that half the function of the program is inaccessible without Firefox. Not everyone uses it. In fact, most people do not even have it. Therefore, why are said people being held back from using the program? I hesitate to even consider this, but perhaps MediaCoder should be labeled as adware. Most of you will probably not like what I have stated, but it is true since 99% of the world's computer users are not as experienced as you and that is what they are facing as a result of said experience (or inexperience). Anyway, thanks for a great program otherwise and keep up the good work.

it actually would be totaly wrong to name this adware (actualy i think it's a bit of an affront). firefox is normal software and it is not installed in a stealthy way. it's just like you need to have .net framework to get other programs working.
MediaCoder settings:

x264 (backend/source: mencoder, fps: 23,976, Fabio Sonatti's settings) + nero aac 64 in matroska

I think it's a good imagery, Gecko and .NET.
I'm working on a total XUL version of MediaCoder right now.
