I thought that you may like to have some useful tools etc
Try these:

MP3 Direct Cut:
By Martin Pesch.
Cut parts of MP3, MP2, MPA, MUS, MPD and CUE
Great for BAD files. Simple to use with great results.
Quick examine info of those Audio/Video Files with a right click of mouse?
Try: Media Info by Jerome Martinez
This is a really useful tool for everyone!!
HoverSnap Capture Screen by Hover Desk
Simple by superb Screen/User defined area or a Window Capture
to BMP, JPG etc.
Exploror Properties File Hex/Decimal Editer by fibooti
SIV (System Information Viewer) by Ray Hinchliffe
SUPERB and a standalone with text files for configuration files.
Those text files are Always being updated. Industry Standard.
Zoom Player (use this not VLC as it can display bad video files).
I use Zoom Player version 2.80(freeware) but you can use what you like.
A very good Music/Film Player and 'fails' those bad files. Great!
Vob2MPG by ChrissyBoy (very fast. 1.30hour film = 3minutes)
Use DVD Decripter, DVD Shrink etc first then Use VOB2MPG on results.
Get vs2.3 May not extract the first time -select again.
VOBmerger Vs2.5
Another VOB merger. Very Good indeed.
Simple to use and fast.

Dvd Shrink. Film or Entire Film and Features on One 4.7GB dvd disc.
Not being updated but fully functional and very good. get vs3.2.0.15
DVD Decrypter. another Great bit of Kit. Extract what you want to H/D.
This site has both help and download. Get vs3.5.4.0

Video DCD Maker Free
Make a DVD with AVI, Mpeg etc
Capture a device and Make a DVD
Burn an Already Authored Video VOB(Video_TS) as they say.
AudioGrabber. Beautiful. Extract music CDs to Mp3, Wav etc and will even
rip CDGs to MP3-G, Mp3 etc. Very fast. Lots of facilities. Brilliant.
Smart Ripper. Another great DVD extractor. ... ripper.cfm
Hard Disk Ogg. Takes audio from any device your computer has.
Save in Various forms including MP3, Wav Monkey etc. Very nice indeed.
Get version 2.51 onwards.
VCDEasy. Has both Freeware and Register (very cheap).
Probably the best VCD creator around. Has all sorts of facilities including
DAT to MPG. Does PAL and NTSC. Allows DATA and Video on CD.
The list goes on and on. Just brilliant. I use nothing else.
It's also good for testing files on, to ensure compatability.
Will also deal with my smaller file creations created in MediaCoder.
Also does an Audio to VCD program. Have a look.
MPlayer. Probably one of the best Audio/Visual
Players around, as used by MediaCoder.
A Big Thank you to the Coders and everyone.
The full download MPlayer is about 15MB.
Some superb FREE utilities.
This includes a simple 'Bit' copier which
allows you to backup your System drive
without leaving Windows. Have a look.
Gromada's VideoMach.
A Superb program. Allowing Film/audio
input, Overlay Films/Pictures and so much
More. Add/join etc.
I use it for my Karaoke/Family Films.
Have a Look.
Flash SWF compressor and Decompressor.
There's more SWF utilities besides this.
Tested. Works Great.
Nice Freeware Tool for Playing CDs\Ripping.
Also includes a builtin-Tag Editor.
Other Non freeware as well.
Media Player Classic. FREE.
Use this for MOV and MP4 and other formats.
Very good indeed.

Joiners: Please make sure that your files terminate correctly.
Nero Rencode, Dvd Shrink and DVD Dycripter are great for the job.

Quite good on video and very good on Audio
Movie Joiner (trial only) Works for set days.

Very good, but need tweeking on the joins.
