2-pass won't work for MPEG-1
I've tried in many way but 2-pass encoding in MPEG-1 codec always produces error: 1. if you leave "Auto Select" in "Encoder" section > "No file is outputed." after 0.1%; 2. if you select "FFmpeg" in "Encoder" section > does the 1st pass correctly, but the 2nd pass stops at 0.5%; It would be great to...

[SUGGESTION] 2-pass/matrices for every codec
I recently used MediaCoder for DVD-to-VCD conversion 'cause it's very fast (approx. 100fps) and configurable (i use 352x288/1000Kbps ABR for video and 32KHz/96Kbps for audio). Here's some problems/suggestions: 1. 2-pass enconding won't work with MPEG-1; 2. Keep/Set DAR/PAR seems to haven't any influ...

Re: [suggestion] CUDA 4 audio encoding
Official homepage ...and a very interesting comparison vs. A multicore FLAC encoder @ HA's forums. Results from test #2: original FLAC encoder (-8 compression) = 1 minute, 07 seconds and George FP's encoder (-8 compression) = 21 seconds just for kicks I tried flaCUDA... flaCUDA encoder (-11 compres...

Re: [port request] Haiku Project Announces Availability of Haiku
So, I have a question: Why would you (or the average person) need to play that many files at once anyway? Ehm... realtime multicam HD video editing ? http://images.apple.com/hk/en/finalcutstudio/finalcutpro/images/editing_multicam20090722.jpg I can playback 5 MP4/h.264/MP3's at once using a 3 year ...

[optimizations] Fiber Pool framework adoption ?
Recently, in this 3ad @ Hydrogenaudio , a multicore MP3 encoder has unveiled: it's called fpMP3Enc . It's based (obviously) on LAME 3.98.2 and, according to the author, encodes pretty fast: LAME 3.98.2 (x32; rarewares): 24.6x LAME64 3.98 (x64; mp3tech): 20.8x fpMP3Enc (x64; single): 23.3x fpMP3Enc (...

Re: [port request] Haiku Project Announces Availability of Haiku
'cause we need a multimedia OS: Windows nor Linux (and OS/X too, of course) aren't developed with multimedia in mind...stanley wrote:A new OS?
I don't know why we need.

[suggestion] OpenCL released...
As someone else already suggested (and Stanley has declared), the best way to take advantage of GPU computations is to follow the OpenCL path. From Wikipedia: OpenCL 1.0 has been released with Mac OS X v10.6 ("Snow Leopard"). According to an Apple press release: Snow Leopard further extends support ...
