MediaCoder's internal settings Vs Presets.

It would be nice if there was an option to either leave MediaCoder's settings alone and Save and Load them 'as is' or incorporate them in Presets, or at least have this option when saving Presets. When you load a Preset, some of MediaCoder's own settings get altered. You don't seem to be able to sav...

A few suggestions, if I may.

Why not support those Codecs that users have to purchase like DivX and others. Millions of people are registered users and would prefer to use those products and their other supported features which the free codecs don't support, DivX Ultra as an example. Surely, examining DirectShow or VFW codecs e...

Try this.

Load MediaCoder. Then select 'load preset'. once done try to 'add dir.

Directory content not being loaded

MediaCoder 0.6.0 pre3 Build 3342

If you select 'Add Directory' Icon, the contents of that directory will not be loaded into the screen.

Added:
0.6.0 pre4 has a similar problem. It may or may not load.

2 pass problem

On any Codec.
MediaCoder 0.6.0 pre3 build 3342.
Using '2 pass' will not work correctly. It creates a few seconds of film.
Also, if you change the setting to anything else, that too will not work.
You have to exit MediaCoder and re-run it again to gain control.

The point is MediaCoder doesn't use DirectShow or VFW to do encoding which is the way VirtualDub does. It simply won't scan system's DirectShow or VFW codecs. Like BlinkN said, Xvid is just as good as DivX and is open-source which is important for audio/video codecs. Just think, if you encode your ...

I don't think DivX was ever listed in MediaCoder since it first came out (at least I think). An equivalent to DivX is MPEG4. Their are some steps involved in order to make the video DivX compliant using MPEG4 as the codec. Go to Video Tab ; uncheck auto select box next to backend. Click the pull do...

Extension Rename facility

Hi. Just a suggestion, if I may. Allow user to type in the final extension needed (for use on multiple files). Example: If you have lots of files being converted to DivX (ext .avi), it takes a very long time to individually rename each one to .divx. Allowing this facility, will automatically rename ...
