Re: Block noise when played back with BD player

Where do I start... b-pyramid=2 is illegal (not compliant) setting for avchd/blu-ray weightp=2 is technically allowed, but many older players don't support it without firmware upgrades. Set the two to 1 or 0 you say that two versions of x264 are broken with ref=3 (upto ref=4 is allowed for 1080p avc...

Re: CUDA = chunky video?

To really change the quality of CUDA encodes, I find that one needs to go to CUDA advanced options and enter the desired QP levels for I/P/B frames there -
something like 16/18/22 for high bitrates , upto maybe 25/28/31 for low bitrates (barely acceptable quality)

It does give the number of different frame-types, which MediaInfo can't give.
OTOH, AVInaptic would give even more info.

Well, have you ever actually checked if Nokia, Panasonic and LG have updated firmwares available on their websites for your devices ? :P
And do they claim to be able to playback XVID/DIVX (within AVI), or MPEG4 ?

Re: XviD fourcc (always FMP4)

FMP4 has been the default fourcc used for MPEG-4 part 2 video produced by mencoder and ffmpeg since 2005/2006 , so a little before the first MediaCoder version was even released - so not exactly a recent change. Use XVID as the encoder instead of mencoder/ffmpeg, set the fourcc (before or after enco...

You mean it doesn't let you change it or the entries aren't even there in this location:

And what happens if you set that to TV level (in nvidia advanced settings) ?

Re: MediaCoder modifies brightness or contrast of files

I suppose you don't know how exactly you converted from the source RGB to YV12 ? Did you set fullrange (test both as adding it as an extra option for x264 , and selecting it in Picture/effects/Auto Level) What decoder, video player software, and physical video card (+driver&settings) are you using w...

Re: Shutdown problem with Mediacoder 2011 build 5030 x64

Well, according to Intel specs, 105 °C is the maximum temperature for Arrandale based core i3/i5/i7 CPUs For the newer Sandy Bridge based ones, it's 100 °C So if cleaning the fans and heatsinks as properly as you can without taking the whole thing apart is not enough, and putting some small felt pad...

Re: Shutdown problem with Mediacoder 2011 build 5030 x64

Obviously, you have already double-checked the following: You have 'No Action' selected in MediaCoder dropdown menu: Options/When all tasks completed. The computers own power profile is 'always on' or similar. Battery ? Overheating (including Bios settings for what happens if certain temps are reach...
