yup, that's what i learned as well. avi does not support subtitles. through some hack, however, it is possible, but the subtitle would be external, meaning it will come as an additional text file containing the subs. on the other hand, the approach that can be done is to hard-sub. this means the sub...

hi! before everything else, i would like to thank the developer and all those who are giving tips on the use of mediacoder. it's really cool, easy to use, and quite powerful. now, here are a few ideas which i believe will greatly improve the user-friendliness of mediacoder if added: 1. automatic con...

You could just rename the output files from .mpg to .m2v it can be done, however i understand that .mpg files cannot be readily muxed with more audio and subtitle. it will have to be demuxed to have the "real" .m2v (or the dvd video portion) ready to be muxed once again, only now more audio can be ...

video output to m2v?
hi!
is there a way, using mediacoder, to convert a video file, say xvid, to m2v (for use in creating dvd)?
if not, will this feature be added in the future?
thanks so much

Re: mkv to avi: is there a "no re-encode if possible&am
Thanks, Charles for the reply :) 1. Choose 'Video TAB' and select Format: Stream Copy. If this fails you will have to use Xvid. cool.... really cool. it works. thank you so much. actually i have been using Virtualdubmod to convert my ogm/mkv files to avi, and in the process had some semi-technical u...

mkv to avi: is there a "no re-encode if possible"
Hi! New member here, and also new to MediaCoder. I was glad to have downloaded this software which has the potential of being the ideal transcoder. I tried some conversion, and by far I found it to be intuitive and excellent. Many thanks to the developer(s)... I have a couple of question thoughs reg...
