Post by duplakappa » Sun Apr 27, 2014 1:32 am

Hello, after a 3 hours 3 pass encoding i got the result of it and I saw that the subtitles didnt look like the original video(an mkv with soft subs) even if i installed the fonts... please tell me there is a solution. Thanks

PS: just before finishing the encoding, a message showed up saying that i had to put a registration code or something, i put a random code and then i got my encoded video, do i have to donate to finish my encoding or what, what was that???

I suggest you read the Guide on subtitles, listed under Tips & Guides (link below).

As for the popup asking for a response, from my experience this happens with the free version when encoding a batch of files.
There is a limit on batch encoding for the freebie. This is explained in the Guide on MediaCoder versions at: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=12453

MediaCoder is the most capable encoder available.
It is constantly being evolved with new features being added and existing ones improved.
As a result, MediaCoder has almost a countless number of possible settings and paramter combinations.
When changes are made, some features or combinations of settings sometime fail.

Hence, there are four options when you find a problem for your particular application -- your particular combination of settings:
(1) vary some of your parameters (Tab settings), maybe starting with those given in the Encoding Guide, until the problem goes,
(2) give full details of your settings, such as values of the parameters listed in the Encoding Guide, so that other users may try and replicate your problem and offer you some help or
(3) after doing the above and having no success, define your problem accurately, giving details of what you have tried (step 1) in the Bug Report, and hope that a solution may be found.
(4) until a solution is found try earlier builds -- they may work better in your case

Note that this Forum is for users to help other users, by giving up their own free time. So, even though you may feel frustrated, you would maximise your chances of getting others to help by being polite and respectful in your posts, with a clear description of the problem.

The popup is just a nag screen that asks for a donation. I'm not sure what conditions trigger it to popup but if you click cancel/skip it will go away for a while and your encoding will continue on as before (the encoding is paused while that nag screen is up).
It is not necessary to pay the $25 to use the program.
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.
