MediaCoder Missing Subs Renderers

Post by HarryMason32 » Sun Apr 27, 2014 5:25 am

I just installed Windows 7, 2 days ago and installed MediaCoder to work with some video files that i need to transcode, these files are .mkv, I extracted the subtitles using MKVExtract, the subtitles extension is .***
When using MediaCoder i realized that doesn't have the A.S.S. Rederer or Text File Renderer, just Default renderer, VobSub and Subtitle Stream, but before install windows, had it.
I don't know if this is an error of MediaCoder, or my computer needs to install something else
P.S. I also have installed K-Lite Codec Pack (The Mega Version)
Pls. Help

It would seem the latest version removed a couple of subtitle rendering options. v5600 still had the two options you were looking for.
On the other hand, have you tried using Default Renderer or Subtitle Stream (not sure what sub format this correlates to) in the new version? It might be that MediaCoder can now detect what sub file it's loaded and select the appropriate renderer if you choose Default.
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

According to the Guide on Subtitles (see Tips & Guides): the render “Mode” on the Subtitle tab should be set at Text Render, A.S.S Render or VobSub Render for builds since 5335 or set “Renderer” at Default in earlier builds.
Hence, it seems that the modes may have been econimised in the most recent builds.
