Hi stanley - using ffmpeg just results in a complete mediacoder crash (can't even supply an error msg , sorry)
<sigh>

Using high profile with SVE should be fine in single-pass mode. Baseline profile is fine with SVE + multi-pass.

That's weird. I have no problem with FFmpeg decoding on my end with the latest revision.

I just performed a quick test with your sample clip and using FFmpeg as video source does not cause crashing on my end.

Hmmm..
that file crashes consistently with ffmpeg on both my machines....(one AMD, One Intel)
sometimes it stops with error 13....no problem with mencoder
-this is with CUDA switched on....
with CUDA off however....
Both ffmpeg and mencoder work and give me about 70 fps (3x)

Oh I didn't test FFmpeg with CUDA. I've just removed my GTX480 from the box as it was too hot.
