Use metadata "date" from original (source file)

Post by pdrolet » Thu Dec 10, 2009 2:31 am

When converting a video, it would be handy to keep some original metadata/tags such as "Mastered Date", "Encoded Date", "Tagged Date".

Many people use the metadata to get the date a video was shot or a picture was taken (prevents from naming all videos and pictures with a date). However, converted videos don't allow us to do this.

This would be a convenient option for cases where videos are compressed to reduce file size, but where valuable info such as dates are kept original.

Thanks!

I'd be also glad for a feature to choose or keep the original date!
