How to use x264 lossless setting?
Hello,
how can I do this?
I already tried -qp0 parameter in the encoder options but that didn't work.
Which container settings should I choose?
Thanks.

That depends on what you want.
You have given us too few clues as to what you are doing.
Maybe have a look at the Encoding Guide or the one on x264, etc, under Tips & Guides, link below.

Re: How to use x264 lossless setting?
Unfortunately, I already read this (very useful) guide but I didn't find anything about -qp0.
I simply want to encode/extract any kind of input video to a lossless one and Huffyuv always makes MediaCoder crash. Since it supports also x264 there must be a way to use -qp0 bitrate setting.

I neither can't get a raw video stream working, MediaCoder always says "No file outputted".
Doesn't work at all?

In version 4275, you can set P frame quantizer qp=0, but only crf=0 shows in the command line when set to quality-based =100.
If you can set crf in whatever version you use, isn't that lossless enough? CRF is supposed to be superior to QP, usually.

Re: How to use x264 lossless setting?
For lossless encoding, --qp 0 is the same as setting --crf 0

Thank you very much, these two parameters work.AnonCrow wrote:For lossless encoding, --qp 0 is the same as setting --crf 0

Re: How to use x264 lossless setting?
Can someone give further detailed setting?
The only setting i could find to "video quality" is under "average bitrate", however, it always failed to output file if i'm setting to 100%. Setting to 98% can output file (but it defeats the whole lossless purpose since there's a downgrade quality.)
I also try under contant QP, setting quantitzer to "0" but it cannot produce file, it can output file if set to 1. But them again this is not lossless.
The thing i'm a bit confused.
Which source & encoder i should use to make lossless file?
I use the above using MEncoder as source and x264 as encoder. And btw, did the x.264 tabs is affecting the lossless setting? I mean if i already set the quantitizer to 0, but the other x264 tab is set to main, level 3, etc default, did that affect the output file?
How about the picture tabs ? What setting i should use?
I'm getting confused with all the "colorspace" dropdown" , should i use original ?
I seriously search google for explanation about colorspace yet getting more confused. (I understand the 4:2:0) but i don't get it with the other tab.
I came across this also on the net:
Converting Fraps RGB video to x264 I444/RGB with MediaCoder
The fault is within Mencoder ?
Because i try with FFMpeg as a source and x.264 as a encoder," no file output".

Use the FFmpeg source and (Let the CRF blank, mark Nothing, delete any numbering.) https://forum.mediacoderhq.com/viewtopi ... 406#p41406
