AudioCoder 5178 fails to convert AC3 to LC-AAC

Post by ysbinns » Fri Aug 05, 2011 2:29 pm

I have tried to convert numerous AC3 files to LC-AAC. Every file is incomplete. I repeated the exact same process, using the exact same settings, using AudioCoder 5150. Every conversion was successful and complete.

I have not had success with any AudioCoder version after 5150. All the newer versions have serious problems.

Are you using the same settings on the tabs or the same Preset?

By the way, the build number you gave was 5178 (not released yet). Do you mean 5177?

I just tried an AC3 (stereo) clip and converted it to LC-AAC (Nero encoder) and it worked in build 5176!
Is your source file 5.1 ch or stereo?

My sources are all AVI DuckTales cartoon episodes with AC-3 stereo. By the way, I'm talking about AUDIOCODER not MediaCoder. Since there is no forum for AudioCoder Bug Reports I use this one.

I use the tab settings and not presets. I reverted back to AudioCoder 5150. My tab settings are identical to the settings I used with 5178. Version 5150 works with these AC-3 files.
