Video Joining

Video Joining
Mediacoder has split option but can we join the video files as well
Re: Video Joining
To join a group of files into one, select those to be joined (highlight) and R-click > Group or click File > Group or simply Ctrl-G. This feature doesn't work for some versions, such as build 4450.
Give it a try.
[Edit] sorry, Group is under 'Item' not 'File'.

Re: Video Joining
where is the group option?
Re: Video Joining
Hi I too have been trying to join two avi files for the past few days without success.mixer wrote:As meRobs said: Right click the file(s) that you've loaded.
Was using build 0.7.2.4510 and update to 0.7.3.4612 today. However I still can't get my job done.
I select both files, right click and select Group, then click the Start button. The Task Mode is left at Normal
But the results are the same when I am with 4510. At the end of the transcoding only one file generated which only consists of my 1st avi file.
I'm running WinXP pro. Any where I can look to set it right?
Re: Video Joining
I have just checked 'Group' in build 4606. It worked!
I joined 3 files with differing characteristics -- two were FLV and one, VOB. I joined & converted them to MPEG2.
It may be that build 4612 differs?

Re: Video Joining
They look almost the same for me.. except the 2nd file doesn't say anything about bitrate and was very brief in the container section.mixer wrote:Are both files AVI format? And, are both the same video and audio specifications ?
here's the properties of the 1st avi file
and this is the 2nd avi file..
Re: Video Joining
Either your build of MC doesn't work for Group or it failed to convert the AVI with incomplete Properties, which may indicate a faulty/corrupted file.
Does the latter file play in MPlayer (select file and click 'Play')?
What happens if you reverse the order of the files in the queue?

There is no difference when I reverse the order.
Both short files were ripped from two different clips using Mediacoder. Maybe there were some errors.. for the 1st file when I go from Tag "Time > Select" a window pop out saying the 'The duration of selected file is not valid or cannot be correctly retrieved."
