I don't have a safe mode box on the Browser Setup dialog. I'm using 4045 x86, FF3, Vista Ultimate Sp1 64bit.

You're not going to find that option in build 4045 duckpuppy. That option was added in newer builds of MediaCoder.

Hi,

same problem here with my default setup.
That is still Windows 2000 and Opera 9.51. I first tried the stable version (0.6.1.4045) and now the latest 0.6.1.4150.

Installing XULRunner did not help either.

I get it to work, if I enable the safe mode and set firefox to my default browser. That means as soon as you enable safe mode, the choosen browser is ignored but the system default is used.

I hope this will help to get rid of the problem.

Ciao

In "Standart" MediaCoder work only if i check the "Safe Mode" option.

In PSP and Audio editions this option isn't available, so i can't get it to work.

Windows XP Professional x86 (SP3)
MediaCoder 0.6.1.4166
MediaCoder Audio Edition 0.6.1.4150
MediaCoder PSP Edition 0.6.1.4116

Hello,

Maybe here is a workaround to make "settings dialog" working with firefox 3. And may help you to solve this issue.

I had started using :
1- Firefox 2.0.14
2- Mediacoder 0.6.1 4075

1/
I have upgraded firefox 2 to 3.0.1, Mediacoder 0.6.1 4075 was still working with firefox 3.0.1
then i upgraded mediacoder to 4150, using a 7z archive and it was still working with firefox 3.0.1 and overwriting over the 4075 directory

2/
After upgrading to firefox 3.0.1, i have unzipped the 4150 7zip archive to a new empty directory. And this time "settings dialog" worked only in safe mode

I hope that could help you.

regards

I have a different work around similar to the one above.

1. First install Mediacoder
2. Uninstall firefox (keeping your personal settings).
3. Install the latest version of firefox version 2.
4. Run mediacoder, then run settings window.

At this point the settings opened after going through the checking of the plugins I had installed earlier in the former installation. I also ran one of the extensions since they didn't work either.

Once it seems to work then:

5. close mediacoder.
6. install firefox 3.01
7. reboot windows.
8. once reboot is done run mediacoder
9. Check both settings and extensions items and see if they run.

For me this worked. It's a pain but this happens everytime I have to reinstall vista. (3 times so far.) I'm running the ultimate version.

I hope this helps also for those who have running other setups.
