Converting from Blu-Ray rips

Post by Luvpeaceguru » Sat Feb 23, 2008 3:53 am

I would like to take either m2ts files or ts files (from tsremuxed m2ts) and convert to h264 avi files preserving resolution of 1920 x 1080 and as much quality as possible.

Does anyone have any suggestions for settings on this?

At the moment on my 2.93GHz Core 2 Extreme I'm getting 2fps which is painful.

ANy ideas?

I'm doing the same thing, but to XviD/MP3 avi and get 7-8fps @ 1920x1080 5Mb/s bitrate on my 2.7GHz AMD X2. I can only encode the AC3 tracks. Can you successfully encode the DTS track?

I have done several encodings of 1080p movies. I usually prefer MP4 container which has less overhead and better support for new codecs like h.264 and aacPlus. On my Core2 2.1Ghz I get about 3-4 fps which is normal.
When things work together, things work.
