Lame crashes my OS!

This is a problem I have that seems not to be caused directly by MediaCoder but by LAME or my Hardware, still I haven't found a solution yet.
Whenever using lame now, my system freezes after a while. I have tried several programs on Windows and Linux, and both OS crash with no return but a reboot!
I have monitored CPU temperature, it's not critically high. I have run the Ubuntu memtest feature, no error found.
I am a bit clueless how to procede, especially since it may be a hardware problem?

Reading the system requirement on the mainpage that MediaCoder is for Windows.

I already wrote, I tested several programs, Mediacoder only being one. Was that hard to understand from my post? I don't think so...
