Greek subtitles

Post by damker » Tue Mar 20, 2012 8:46 pm

Hi folks.

I have a problem with Greek subtitles:
I have made some Greek subtitles for a home video and I have timed them with Subtitle Workshop. However when I transcode the video in order to incorporate the subtitles they appear as straight lines like that ______ _______ _______ ________. :x
I don't have this problem with English subtitles.
Could you please help in any way?
Anticipated thanks :)

This is most likely an issue with MediaEncoder not supporting other languages other than English. I've run into similar issues when I've had Korean file names (MediaEncoder refused to encode them at all though).

I use .mkv files a lot so I simply use MKVMerge and .srt subs to input the subtitles. However, you are most likely using other video formats so I'm not sure if MKVMerge supports them...
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.
