Estimated Size False

Post by lazarus » Thu Dec 02, 2010 3:50 pm

Hi,

In advance sorry for my English.

Mediacoder is great but...

The Estimated Size into summary is different than the final size of the movie, why ?

How to see to it to have a final file in the correct size (as with the other software of encoding).

File is an avi with mp3.

For the present case I have to put 355 to obtain a file of 700. That I modify with the bitrate after a first try.

TY

This is just a rough estimation which is definitely not that accurate because CBR is really rarely used now.

Stanley, fine enough - but how can you explain that one program is showing you two different "estimated sizes" at the same time for the same video conversion?
Example:
Image

The conversion included a new rendering from 23,976 fps to 25 fps. Is that the reason for this misscalculation?
It's simply annoying when chosing a specific bitrate - in the example matching with a dvd size - a getting only 1/3 of that.
I can't find any reason or missing setup within the program. do you?

What is the result bitrate comparing to your set one?
