MediaCoder Version 0.7.5 build 4730 doesn't copy/rip to MP3?

Post by ant » Thu Aug 26, 2010 4:06 pm

Weird. I used to be able to rip/copy audio to MP3 files in the past. I don't know if it was caused by the latest update build to break. Maybe it is a new bug. I think it was a few weeks ago that I last did it with an older build. I am basically trying to rip downloaded Flash videos' audio tracks (from Orbit Downloader v2.8.20's GrabIt) to MP3s. However, it is not working anymore. I even tried revertting all to defaults during the build upgrade and in program. Here's the console log when it fails:

Still no replies?

I think I found more clues. I tried reinstalling with the latest full installer with everything except VLC. It still happens. I also noticed if I don't encode audio, then I can encode but obviously no audio. I tried encoding to other format beside MP3, and they failed too. I can play the video files, and hear their audio tracks, just fine. I think there's something wrong with the audio encoder. :(

v0.7.3.4685

Post by ant » Mon Aug 30, 2010 6:37 am

I uninstalled the latest version and reinstalled the last stable version (MediaCoder-0.7.3.4685.exe). I have NO problems! It looks like there is a bug in the newer version. :(

I see 0.7.5.4740 is out now, but does it fix my issue? http://wiki.mediacoderhq.com/index.php/ ... 0.7.5.4740 doesn't say anything about my issue. Do I have to stop upgrading to the latest versions? I am already of downloading, uninstalling, reinstalling, upgrading, etc. :(

But I'd like to have the latest version, specially with the new resize video feature. :(

mixer wrote:I see, I thought you were only ripping to MP3. You'll probably have to have two versions...........one for each. All versions...especially the newer ones seem to have bugs, so the trick is finding which one (or two) work best for what you want. Some people have had luck replacing ffmpeg.exe, mencoder.exe and mplayer.exe in the newer versions with the same files from older versions to get the results they want. For more information on that post a new question in Basics.
I do more MP3 ripping than videos.

So am I the only one with this MP3 ripping problem? I think encoding from another video doesn't work either if audio is enabled. :(

v0.7.5.4742

Post by ant » Fri Sep 24, 2010 6:29 am

I tried 0.7.5.4742 on a clean, updated XP Pro. SP3 in VMware Workstation v7.1.1 (256 MB of RAM). It worked. I will try it on my home PC later this weekend. I hope the bug is really fixed. :)
