Addition with above post, test was done with save test files not active, incase you think that is the problem. Or maybe auto saving the first pass is the problem

I've just tried a clean install of 0.7.5.4710 to see if this issue might be fixed, but unfortunately the same problem exists.
Note to Stanley : Literally if you encode a video directly from installing any version of 4.7.5 with the default settings, but simply change the Mode from Average Bitrate to 2 or 3 Pass, it will create the extra files on output which older versions don't do by default on multi pass encoding.
I've gone through every setting I can find and just can't see what's causing this problem. It's a real shame as I have a massive batch of re-encoding to do very soon, and the parallel encoding feature would speed things up no end, but seeing the caveat is the creation of extra files it would require double the disc space to batch encode over 1TB of source footage!

Same bug here (build 4730) fixed in build 4732 apparently
