I have been trying to convert mpeg, mov and other formats to iPod using h.264 encoder but no luck. Transcoding is completed successfully but the no video plays in quicktime. no problem with audio.
To begin with it would playback in Media Player Classic but now the video window is just a long horizontal black strip across the screen.
I tried converting the same files using SUPER and NO PROBLEM. Quicktime plays back fin as well as iPod.
Maybe Mediacoder's h.264 needs a little additional customisation options.

h.264 encoding does not play
Here are the settings I used:
Audio TAB:
MPlayer
Nero ACC Encoder: Resample 44100
Down Mix:Disabled Gain:0 db
Audio ID:0
Language:Empty
Video TAB:
Bitrate slider: 768
Rate Mode: Fixed Bitrate
Format: H.264
Bitrate Control:Default
Container TAB:
Format: MP4
Option: no selected
Additional Tracks: Empty
Picture TAB:
Resize Video:320x240
Crop: No
Rotation: No
Frame Rate:25.00 (default)
The rest empty
Time TAB: Set all to 00:00 unless required
Texts: All Empty
Preview: Only Original
Audio Output Codec
AAC Profile: LC-ACC
Encoding: Target Bit Rate
Bitrate slider: 64
Hint Track: Not selected
The transcoder SUPER has some additional settings for h.264 like Profile, Level etc. Do you suppose these have some bearing on the issue?
