Wav to MP3 batches yield intermittant mp3 playback speedup

Post by kikoreiki » Sat Jun 24, 2006 2:40 am

Hello - I am using Mediacoder v0.3.9 updated on WinXP SP2

and I set it up to convert a folders' worth (about 20) of .WAV files to mp3 and just about every other file I converted to mp3 came out as chipmonk-style voice speedup on playback. However, the next file in my same output folder, was encoded and compressed properly.

The settings I used were to convert to mp3 using Lame, VBR, Bitrate Quality-5, Algorithym Quality-0, best.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks,

Greg

P.S. very nice interface, would love to keep on using it.

I found some more info on my WAV to MP3 speedup error

All of the files in the folder to be compressed were snippets from some podcasts - and I realized that some were stereo 44.1 and some were mono 44.1 so it's probably not a random coding error as it seemed to be operating on every other file or so, when every other file or so was stereo or mono.

My guess before looking is that it consistently errored on either the mono WAV or the stereo files, somehow speeding up the voice track during compression.

I'll report back later.

Thanks
