PMP AVC 1.0 support

Post by Shonen » Thu Jun 15, 2006 5:00 am

As you may know, Jonny and magiK have been able to unlock the PSP's AVC codec, enabling 480x272 AVC videos for 1.5 PSPs and using jonny's custom PMP container.

There are a few technical remarks to be made: jonny uses a custom version of X264. There is also a new muxer.

Could this be implemented in Mediacoder's PMP support?

More information, along with jonny's PMP AVC 1.0 (including the source code):

Wow, it's so cool! I will definitely do it and it will definitely be supported by MediaCoder!
As I'm currently busy working with the up-comping version 0.4.0 (the code arch has some big change), I cannot release before the work is done. Please stand by.

PS: Jonny is strong!

That's wonderful news, stanley. I really love Mediacoder, I like the way you combine newbie-proof features (Easy Cropper! "Summary" tab! MKV/OGM/multiple container support!) with command-line adaptibility. I've made some great 480x272 XVid avis for PSPlayerMT using Mediacoder.

Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next release!
