Encoding loop [BUG]

Post by nagan » Wed Jun 05, 2013 7:30 pm

5508
I tried converting the following file
1-MC 2013-06-05_143006.gif
to
Container AVI , Bitrate 3150kbps , format XVID , Encoder , source both as Auto
Audio Format mp3 CBR @ 128kbps

Even after the encoding 100% is achieved speed column is still running and the final file is not produced.

It is happening when tried transcoding with other files as well.

No . The source has been set to Auto. But before that I select Mencoder and then click Auto , that way making the Mencoder selection grey. But at the time of encoding the Source jumps to avisynth automatically. No clues yet.. :o :shock:

Ok it seems it's the same issue than me, try to change the source uncheck auto and put to mencoder pr to FFmpeg to try logically it should work.

Read viewtopic.php?f=17&t=12660, which suggests that build 5392 is more stable.

@meRobs
ThankYou , I will look into the suggestion of 5392.

@Eldorhaan
Yes that did the trick. In Source Audio had to be kept selected as Mencoder for the transcoding to progress smoothly.

BUG
In video , the source if ticked as Auto takes in Avisynth always (eventhough greyed) and it causes the encoding loop. Hence I added the word BUG to the title.

Again a stupid question but how to back to build 5392 if you are in 5508?

This was offered as a benevolent suggestion by a member whose credentials in the forum is well established. What is being said is that for the most common transcoding purposes 5392 performs with the least of nagging bugs. You can download and separately install , at the time of installation you can choose c:\program files\5392 . It will install MC5392 in the 5392 folder and you can make a shortcut to start the specific instance anytime. 5508 will operate from the regular folder and 5392 can be started separately.
