Picture >> Effects for AVI file.
Mediacoder 5360 x 64 and 5360 x 32
If I try to view Picture >> effects for file esp AVI , Mediacoder hangs. It works only if the listed file container is MP4.
Hope this is corrected in the future versions.

Re: Picture >> Effects for AVI file.
Problem still continues in 5380
Re: Picture >> Effects for AVI file.
Not knowing your source file formts or your set parameters, no one can test this issue for you.
However, out of interest, I took two AVI files.
One had been created in MPEG4/MP2/AVI and the other in XVID/MP3/AVI using the suggested settings in the Encoding Guide (listed under Tips & Guides, below).
in Build 5355 (x64 Premium version) I changed the Effects values and converted both to MPEG4/MP2/AVI and then both to XVID/MP3/AVI. All 4 output files were correct, with colours as set in Effects!

Re: Picture >> Effects for AVI file.
Are you saying that on clicking the Effects button, the resultant window crashes or that MediaCoder itself crashes, even before attempting any changes to the Effects sliders or any conversion?nagan wrote:... I do not get the effects screen picture loaded .... [/code]

Re: Picture >> Effects for AVI file.
I get the resultant window somewhat opaqued, and nothing happens. Re: Picture >> Effects for AVI file.
Seems to have been solved in 5505. Thanks a lot. THUMBS UP
Re: Picture >> Effects for AVI file.
Ok hold on... There seems to be a blank screen phenomenon for two types of files which are listed MPEG4 video with PCM Audio in AVI container , MPEG4 Visual with amr audio in MPEG4 container. Of course initially the screen used to HANG for a lot of files which has improved.
Re: Picture >> Effects for AVI file.
Anything more on this. Also while moving the slider though the brightness / contrast changes the number in the box does not change. It gives the reading only when the silder is stopped.
Re: Picture >> Effects for AVI file.
That is so and always has been ever since I began testing MediaCoder with a VOB file.nagan wrote:Also while moving the slider though the brightness / contrast changes the number in the box does not change. It gives the reading only when the silder is stopped.
Also, as far as your comments about the Effects button/window are concerned:
I tried it on two versions of MediaCoder: (1) the latest, 5506 and (2) build 5380, which I keep on a separate drive since it is the most reliable build of the most recent ones (see: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=12660).
I loaded 3 AVI files: (1) Xvid/PCM/AVI (2) MPEG4/MP2/AVI and (3) DV/PCM/AVI.
In build 5380 all was well, the Clipping and Effects window opened and showed the video, etc.
However, in build 5506, the most recent, MediaCoder hung up (froze) when the Effects button was clicked for any of the three AVI files.
So, once again, the latest build has more bugs that does 5380.
