Build 5145 not transcoding audio

Tried to transcode MKV file, H264, AC-3 6ch audio to MP4, H264, LC-AAC 2ch audio. I used Copy Video and set audio to use Nero Encoder. After the transcoding process the result was still using AC-3 6ch audio. I did the same process for a file using MP3 audio and the result was still MP3 audio.

Please try 5150.

I tried build 5150. Same parameters as my original post. This time I got a 0mb output file.

However I tried a second time but this time I disabled the video. This time I got a m4a audio file that worked fine but was a much lower volume than the original file.

I tried a third time with disabled video and also set the audio gain to 10db. The resulting m4a file worked fine and the volume was about the same as the original.

I tried several other files with the original parameters and every output file was a 0mb file. But when the video is disabled then I get fine audio.

In the recent builds, when decoding mkv, mediacoder will use avisynth for decoding by default. This means your system's codecs are relied on. You can try forcing video source to mencoder which should behave like before.

Selecting Mencoder did not solve the problem. However I did find a way to solve the problem. If I recode the video then, and only then, does the AC-3 6ch audio change to LC-AAC 2 ch audio. Recoding the video also allows the audio gain to work.

So if I use COPY VIDEO the audio functions do NOT work in 5150.

I tried the same recode video on my mkv files with AAC 6ch audio to change them to LC-AAC 2ch audio. That works also, and the audio gain works. If I use COPY VIDEO it does NOT work.

Strange, as indicated in the Test Report for build 5150, Copy video worked with audio encoded or copied.
The situation is different from yours, but still ...
For the Test Report a VOB with 6-ch AC3 at 448 kbps was converted to MPEG2 with audio in stereo at 128 kbps, and the audio conversion worked whether the video was copied or encoded.
