When using the settings in the Encoding Guide (viewtopic.php?f=17&t=9643) for conversions of a 4:3 VOB file to MPEG1, MPEG2 and MPEG4/AVI to output files have a Display AR of 3:2, the same as the FAR and PAR = 1 (incorrect). On the other hand, the conversions to MP4 an MKV gave the correct DAR and PAR.
This bug has been around for a while.
I just checked again in 4740 and all was OK.
The identical VOB used above was converted with the same tab settings and all outputs had DAR = 4:3 and PAR = 0.89.
Build 5002 fails to set PAR for MPEG2, etc [POSTPONED]

Re: Build 5002 fails to set PAR for MPEG2, etc
This is a known bug of ffmpeg.
When things work together, things work.
Re: Build 5002 fails to set PAR for MPEG2, etc [POSTPONED]
In that case, can't you force the header to contain the correct PAR and DAR?
If not, why not use the FFmpeg from 4740 or a more recent one that works ????

Stanley: since "Postponed" has been added to the title, since my previous post, I guess you are awaiting an improved version of FFmpeg.
It's a pity you didn't simply revert to r22815 for FFmpeg as exists in builds 4640 and 4740.
In the meantime, I have done this manually.
I simply re-named the as-supplied version as "ffmpeg2011", or whatever, in the Codecs folder. This allows me to revert to the original whenever I want.
Finally, I copied over the version of FFmpeg from build 4740 (installed on another drive or in a parallel folder "MediaCoder4740").
Build 5002 or 5003 now works!
