Re: The version of CUDA h264 has expired

Apparently, the 64 bit version of MediaCoder is taking a back-seat to the 32 bit version as far as upgrades go. Still no 64 bit update available to version 0.7.5.4712. Got tired of changing my system date back and forth to allow cudaH264Enc64.exe to work, so I started poking around a bit.

Seems that cudaH264Enc64.exe (64 bit version of the CUDA encoder) and cudaH264Enc.exe (32 bit version) are perhaps one in the same. If not, they will both process encodes in MediaCoder 64 bit version anyway, so you can use the updated 32 bit version of this codec by simply deleting (or renaming if you wish) the old version in [drive:]\Program Files\MediaCoder\codecs\cudaH264Enc64.exe and replacing it with cudaH264Enc.exe from update 0.7.5.4712. Just move the file into codecs directory and rename it to cudaH264Enc64.exe. Works fine and no more expired error messages to deal with.

You don't want to run the update, just extract the files from the update and get cudaH264Enc.exe from the codec folder, move it and rename it.

Hope this helps some of you using 64 bit MediaCoder and CUDA.

Thank you, that's great.

I used the cudaH264Enc.exe which is in MediaCoder NT and it works perfectly.

STILL ERROR 14...EXPIRED CUDA ENCODER (all here)

Post by kec789 » Thu Aug 26, 2010 1:28 pm

Why do they release an update and not fix this annoyance? The previous update screwed things up and they said an upcoming update would fix it. I just downloaded and installed the latest IPOD edition and I still get this error message.

When will an update be released that gets us an unexpired encoder??? I miss using this program!

agree... the cuda h264 exe is still dated May in the latest x64 Full edition.

A user here suggests to use the exe extracted from the NT version (dated July), although it works, but not sure whether that exe is 32bit or 64bit.

hope official fix could be released shortly...

First say:

"cuda encoder is not included in this distribution"

it is correct? so, what reason appear the opcion of cuda encoder?? :S

I use latest drivers and and mediacoder 4740 x86 in win7x64 system.

Install "MediaCoder NT Cuda" and copy the file cudaH264Enc.exe from C:\Program Files (x86)\MediaCoder NT CUDA\codecs\cudaH264Enc.exe (this is the location on my Windows 7 64 bit system) to either C:\Program Files (x86)\MediaCoder\codecs (for the 32bit version of Mediacoder on a Windows7 64bit system) or C:\Program Files\MediaCoder\codecs\ (for the 64 bit Version of Mediacoder on a Windows7 64bit system where it will also need to be renamed cudaH264Enc64.exe). Curiously the 32bit Cuda encoder extracted from "MediaCoder NT Cuda" seems to work in both the 32bit and and 64bit full MediaCoder applications as long as it is renamed in the latter.

Thanks, but I'm not going to move this and that and rename this. I wish I hadn't ever updated anything because it seems now when I can get one to work it's now out of sync and my encoding speeds have also dropped for one reason or the other.

Now they have a new updated 64bit version that "isn't available on the server." It's been this way for a week plus now. Very frustrating.

thank you, but don't work! :( I check it with MediaCoder 32 bits Version: 0.7.5 build 4742 (built on Sep 11 2010, 23:47:55) over win7x64
I think it will be necessary to wait ...

MediaCoder says CUDA encoder has expired

Post by Andrey8688 » Mon Sep 20, 2010 8:16 pm

Hello!

I installed the latest MediaCoder 0.7.5.4740 x64 Full in Windows 7 Ultimate x64. As far as I see this build number is not as same as in x86 edition.

I tried to covert 1-minute mkv video with using of CUDA, but it says the following:
<GeForce GT 240> CUDA 1.2 device 0 detected
This verion of CUDA H.264 encoder has expired. Please request
for an update.
and then
Last Error Code: 014 | Click here to get more information on this error
As I understand the software thinks it is out-dated (build 4740<4742) and denies to convert the video.

Two days before I tried to convert the same video with the help of MediaCoder x86 with CUDA (Windows XP SP3) and it worked fine.

Please could you tell me how to solve this problem?

Thank you very much!

This is the great converter and it often saves me in difficult situations.
