PSP can't play CUDA encoded *.mp4

Post by geldiev » Sun Dec 06, 2009 1:56 am

MediaCoder 0.7.2 build 4535 (PSP Edition, x86) - after conversion any avi movies (xvid+mp3 sound), with selected format "MPEG-4 AVC (GPU/CUDA)" - my PSP can't play file. PSP - classic "FAT", firmware 3.90 M-33, after changes firmware to 5.00 M33-6 - same problem, PSP can't play CUDA encoded *.mp4 files. But software players work with CUDA encoded files without problem.
When i'am select format "Mpeg-4 AVC (HQ)" all works fine, played at same PSP greatly. But speed of encoding decreasing from 560 FPS with CUDA to 160 FPS without it...

Setting of encoding: resolution "480*272",video quality "300 Kbps", FPS "orginal', audio quality "FAAC normal", set to "Enhance visual quality".
Configuration of computer: Win7 x64, 12 Gb RAM, Core i7 920, GPU GF9800 GT (driver version 191.07), directX 11.
On PSP - i'am use default sony videoplayer.

Any ideas?

Your firmware is too old. Only firmware with 5.x can play CUDA encoded H.264.

The latest MediaCoder PSP edition has fixed the compatibility issue of CUDA encoded H.264 on PSP 1000.
