Is there a bitrate or file size limit using the CUDA encoder?
I'm trying the CUDA encoder in build 4470. I'm attempting to re-encode a 1080p m2ts file into an 1080p x264 mp4. I'm using a bitrate of 15000Kbs.
At this bit rate I should get an output file of about 10GB. However, the file generated is about 3.5GB. It plays fine, but there is heavy pixelation in the video (as if it was encoded at a lower bitrate). I looked at the command line generated in the console window and it shows "-abit 15000". I have used both Badaboom and the Media Coder x264 encoder and both generate a file of about 10GB with good video.
CUDA bitrate or file size limit?
Re: CUDA bitrate or file size limit?
Try these settings:
pofile: High
Level 5.1
B-Frames 4
QP level I frame 24
QP level P frame 26
QP level B frame 28
You may have to choose a lower bitrate, I'm unsure how high the cuda encoder can read, 6k-10k

Re: CUDA bitrate or file size limit?
The latest version has eliminated this limit.
When things work together, things work.
Re: CUDA bitrate or file size limit?
In the latest version I noticed the quality based seems to be disabled or broken.
It gives error code 14. I'm guessing its disabled?
I was getting really great results using it lol, even though the slider didn't really adjust the output quality.
