I think the newer versions of MediaCoder include NVENC function now (there is a NVENC option in the encoder...) but I can't be sure if it actually works or not as I use AMD cards currently. So if you want to try using NVENC, update to the latest MediaCoder as well as the latest NVIDIA drivers and see if that works.
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

Er.....nope.....still not.....

NVENC has been in the drop down for a while, but has never worked for me....(i have a GTX650 so it should ;-) )

Stanley said he was starting work on it soon....(check the "feature request" thread)
but there is no mention of it in the changelog....

In answer to the question of getting CUDA working again - you will need to roll back to the pre 340.52 NVIDIA drivers i am afraid....

there are also some hacked 340.52 drivers out there but i guess you need to assess that risk for yourself

sharkbite, you are absolutely correct. NVENC is supported on any Nvidia card with a CUDA Compute Capability of 3.0 and above.

Your GTX 650 has a CUDA Compute Capability of 3.0, so does my GTX 670. But NVENC doesn't work for me either. It just loads an unloads immediately. I'm on Nvidia drivers 340.52 with latest MediaCoder build 5680.

sharkbite, you are not the only one. NVENC doesn't work on my GTX 670 either. NVENC just loads and unloads immediately. NVENC is supported on any Nvidia card with a CUDA Compute Capability of 3.0 and above. Both our Kepler cards have a CUDA Compute Capability of 3.0, so should be supported.

I have had no luck what so ever getting NVENC to work. I have checked and I have NVENC in both system32 and wow64. Mediacoder returns an error 14

Has any one had any luck getting NVENC to work? If so, what parameters were used?

Anyone? I would really like an answer before I buy my GeForce GTX 970. Support for H265 is supposed to be built in (encoding as well as decoding)
