Intel Encoder options

Post by Avi » Sat Apr 21, 2012 7:35 am

There are various options listed in the standard x264 encoder and not in the Intel version (B-frames for example). Does the Intel encoder look at the settings of x264 for these, or are they currently hardcoded and unavailable for changing?

Maybe I wasn't clear. There are many more options under the x264 setting than the Intel Coder setting. For example, B-frames and CABAC. As the Intel Coder is also converting into H.264 from what I understand, are the settings under the x264 tab (and the long setting page) used for the Intel coding if those options arent under the Intel tab (the way GOP size is) or does Intel Coding just not have those options, the way it does not have Constant Quality or multipass? Thanks.

I think that the Intel encoder does have less options. The CUDA encoder also has less options than x264.
