B-Frames

hi, i wanna ask about b-frames..
what is b-frames?
when i encode a video to iPod classic, what is better, lower the b-frames or make it higher?

B-frames are described in the Guide viewtopic.php?f=17&t=8599&start=0

More B-frames means more compression.
