H265 NVENC QUALITY PRESET SETTINGS

Hi all,

today I just discovered this MediaCoder software. Before I used to use some other solutions to encode my video, but I was searching something that could encode h265 faster, and I found this encoder.

My problem is that I'm probably doing something wrong configuring the NVENC encoder. I tried to use the "Lossless" option, tried even to bump up the bit rate, but I still get lower quality than if I use the x265 encoder with "Medium" profile setting.

I'm trying to reduce a h264 file in half of its size, without losing the quality. x265 did a good job, but it doesn't encode that fast as NVENC. But in NVENC I can't reach the quality of the x265 using the same bitrate as I use in the x265 encoder.

Any tips on how I should configure the NVENC encoder to encode h265 with a good quality?
