BWF Metadata

I'm trying to transcode some audio-only files. They are WAV's that contain BWF metadata. After transcoding to MP3, none of the BWF metadata survives.

If I use a program like Adobe Audition, the BWF metadata is preserved in the file.

Is there a way to preserve audio metadata?
