MediaCoder H.265 encoding is open for beta testing. For users who want to involve in the beta testing, please download this update package (both x86 and x64) and apply on the installation of latest MediaCoder 0.8.28.
x265 is used for H.265/HEVC encoding. Currently only MP4 container with H.265. 2-pass and 3-pass mode are not supported yet. Be aware the encoding speed of H.265 is very slow. Make sure you have a powerful enough CPU. The good thing is the saving on bitrate is about 50% over H.264. Please don't hesiste to leave you feedbacks.

Thanks! Yes it works fine without problem. Only the speed is very very slow 0,33x only  .
My graphic card use OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1348.5) FULL_PROFILE . Will add support for it ?

Whether OpenCL acceleration will be supported totally counts on x265. ;-)

Hi there! I'd like to try x265 encoding. Is it available in the Premium version only?

Still get errors when encoding using Tune setting Zero Latency.

i seemed to encode in to mkv without problems.

i was a bit disappointed with the results. i encoded an HD episode of archer down to SD at a very low bitrate of 300kbps.

the results were better than my standard h264 profile but it took 12x longer.

so i thought lets give h264 a chance and changed it to triple pass 'very slow' preset. it was still about 3x faster than h265 but the video was a lot lot better.

i have confidence in h265 but i guess x265 is not there yet.

ETA
x265 seems to round height to nearest mod 8.

My Speed was around 0.30x, but i've used the "medium" Preset for a High Quality 720p video, 2500kb/s bitrate.
A thing I've mentioned not working:
If you pause the encoding process, the process will go on after the pause, but the video won't save properly.
It will be black, but it'll be the same length (as source) if you encode the audio stream too. (the video-file will be just as big as the audio stream.)
Maybe it's because of SVE, but I don't think so.

I've used a ingame videocapture of AC4, and from 49GB (55min.), it got down to 0,99GB with really good quality.

What kind of settings are you using for h265 encoding ?
I always get error message..
I'm using average bitrate/variable bitrate
format H265
encoder x265
source ffmpeg
container MP4/MKV

what's wrong ?

MediaCoder 8.29.5600

What error message specifically? Because telling us that would really help in determining where it's having issues.
