wrong timecodes (solved)

Post by boardersparadise » Thu May 13, 2010 10:13 am

Hi everyone. I tried to transcode a portion of a video (see screenshot below, from 74:12 to 75:55). I used "mark in" and "mark out" from picture > effects. The problem is that the output video has been transcoded from about 75:55 and seems to have exactly the same length (01:42). This seems to be a bit too coincidental for a mere time lag.

Can you see from my screenshot, if I did anything wrong? The input file was wmv/VC-1/asf.
Note, that I had never such significant problems with delays when encoding parts of videos, which normally worked more or less fine.
And other players showed the same time codes for the part in question (74:12 and 75:55)

Any ideas?
Many thanks!

Re: wrong timecodes ?

okay, I figured out that this was a mere mathematical coincidence (despite the almost impossible odds :-)
What's strange though is the long time lag. But the source video might just have been badly encoded.
Maybe this thread should be deleted ?
